The Old Testament book of Ruth is seen by some as one of the most wonderful love stories in the Bible. It is the story of a young widow who leaves her home to follow her mother-in-law to a foreign land where she meets and marries a godly man called Boaz.

The book of Ruth is a wonderful story but is so much more than that – it is the story of God’s gracious dealing with a particular family from whom the promised Messiah would eventually descend. It is also the story of undeserved grace and favour poured out abundantly on Ruth which in turn reflects the affection and love that our Father in heaven pours out on His own undeserving children.
