1. Find a good local church
Find a Church that will give you good bible teaching and look after you well through Uni. For me at Uni, attending a great church was one of the most influential and important things I did during my 3 years.
2. Get hooked into the Christian Union
The CU will not only help you get to know other Christian students but help you to share the gospel with the non Christian friends from halls and your course. We have links with and support both University Christian Unions in Bristol.

3. Make some good Christian friends
Making solid friendships with Christians will help you not only survive during your time at University but will help you to thrive and flourish as a Christian.
4. Make some good non Christian Friends
It is important to make friends with Non Christians too. We are called to be a lights in a broken world (Phil 2:14-16). Making friends with non Christians will enable you to love, serve and most importantly declare the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.
5. Be bold about being a Christian from day 1
All too often you hear of Christian students sturggling, this is often because they are not open about being a Christian from the day they get to Uni. People will be vastly more accepting and open than you have probably ever experienced. Have in mind Romans 1: 16-17)
16I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
6. Remember you’re at Uni to do a degree.
This is easier to do than you think. Remember what ever your degree is you are there because God wants you to be. Take comfort in this and work hard for Him ( Col 3:17)
7. Don’t feel like you have to do everything everyone else is doing.
It is good to join in and get involved but be careful not to, to the detrement of you trusting in Jesuss. This again is frighteningly easy to do and to slowly fall away being enticed by sin. The lure of drink, sex and wanting to fit in and not be seen a wierd can often be easier than you think. This short video clip of a message by Josh Harris looking at falling into temptation to sin
8. Don’t spend all your student loan in the first few weeks. It has to last all term!
9. Make sure you eat some fruit and veg. It really does help.
10. You will meet lots of people who think you being a Christian is absurd, if your struggling please ask us for help with anything.
This is a problem all Christians will face at some point, 1 Cor 1: 18 is quite clear ‘For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.’ What we hold to as truth will to some seem idiotic and rediculous. Trust in the promise that although it may seem folly to those who are not saved it is in fact the power of God. If you are struggling in anyway please do not hesitate to contact us and we will help you in any way we can
